MotorEasy's Christmas Giving Campaign

Christmas giving

Here at MotorEasy we believe in doing the things you love. With Christmas just around the corner, everyone starting to feel festive and looking forward to spending time with those who mean the most to us. Tucking into a delicious Christmas dinner, telling awful Christmas cracker jokes and wondering what will be waiting for us under the tree!

It’s easy to forget that there are those who’ll be spending Christmas struggling to put food on the table, presents under the tree and even a roof over their heads. Not forgetting those who’ll be spending Christmas in hospital or the animals who’ve been abandoned throughout the year.

Which is why this year MotorEasy launched our first Christmas Giving campaign. We’re supporting six local charities and good causes, to help spread some Christmas cheer and support those who work tirelessly to help those less fortunate.

The MotorEasy Elves will be out in force in December collecting food, presents and Christmas Treats for those who need it most. They’ll also be visiting each of the causes to deliver the donations and help out any way they can!

Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see the MotorEasy Elves in action!

MotorEasy’s Christmas Giving Tree

This year rather than just decorate our Head Office in Reading, we decided to use our tree as a way for the staff at the office to donate to those less fortunate.

Staff have been forfeiting their lunches to donate food for the homeless and instead of the usual secret santa gag gifts many of the staff requested nappies and baby food for the local food bank.

Who We’ll Be Supporting This Christmas

Royal Berkshire Hospital

2019 will be the fourth year the RBH is running its Christmas Gift Tree Appeal, with the help of the local community their aim to to ensure every one of the 800 patients who will be spending Christmas in hospital will receive a present on Christmas Day.

This is especially meaningful for the elderly patients who may not have many visitors over Christmas or young patients who will be spending Christmas in one of the RBH’s two children's wards.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is once again running their nationwide Christmas Present Appeal, ensuring disadvantaged children aged 0-16 who may not otherwise receive a present on Christmas morning has something to open.

The Salvation Army will wrap, sort and distribute the gifts to children and families in the area through The Salvation Army’s own networks, local groups, and social services.

The ReadiFood Bank

The ReadiFood Bank support the local churches of Reading and the surrounding areas to give food parcels to those in need.

This year they launched a Reverse Advent Calendar campaign to encourage the local community to donate one single item each day of advent in order to create an entire food parcel by Christmas Eve.

Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre

The Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre based in Wokingham was founded over 50 years ago. For a large part of that time animals rescued by the charity were kept at the home of Mrs Brimblecombe, who was awarded the MBE in 2001 for services to Animal Rescue.

This year they are running a shoe box appeal to give each of the animals in their care some toys and treats to enjoy over Christmas.

Whiteknights Preschool

The preschool aged children of Whiteknights are learning the importance of road safety and the emergency services.

Knowing who to call if they or their parent or caregiver is taken ill, injured or in need of help is a very important message all children should learn from a young age.
